Smartphone and keys in pocket
Published by David Chartier (@chartier) —
Do people seriously put their $200-$700 smartphones in the same pocket as her keys?
@chartier Not a chance here. Always separate
@chartier You have to be a real tool to do that.
@chartier Well, stupid people do.
@chartier My iPhone has and always will have its own pocket that nothing else goes in. Also, back pockets are not for smartphones, people.
@chartier I did with my iPhone 4, it got quite scratched. Never have done with my 4S, it's still scratched - though somewhat less.
@chartier i dont, but i bet lots of people put their smartphones in the same purse.
@chartier also i have no idea how to use an apostrophe; good morning
@chartier I doubt many on purpose, but sometimes it's easy to toss your device next to your keys on accident.
@chartier Billionaires do.
@chartier no but women throw them in their bags with all sorts of sharp objects.
@chartier the left front pocket is my dedicated iPhone pocket. :)
@taylorcarrigan @chartier amen!
@chartier I don't but I recently horrified someone I admire when he discovered I carry my iPhone in my back pocket.
@siracusa @chartier on a more serious note - my wife does, I still can't get over it.
@chartier I put my iPhone in the pocket opposite to the keys.
@chartier I don't think of my phone as a precious object. It's easily replaceable.
@chartier haha heck no! They take more care of it than they care about their cat
@chartier Yup, usually accidentally. Had my iPhone 4 for 18 months and it's only very lightly scratched. Dropped onto concrete 3 times, too.
@siracusa @chartier I do. What of it?
@clint @siracusa @chartier Me too. Is this a thing now?
@chartier yes. Also in purses with keys. And water bottles.
@chartier Come on! It's scratch resistant glass! It's my phone's job to protect itself, not my job to consider which pocket things go in.
@chartier For the record, my screen is also in great shape. But I never worry about it cohabitating with my keys.
@chartier yes I do. this thing is supposed to be mobile, right?
@chartier Not I. My phone pocket is phone only, nothing else. I prefer my iPhone with no case so, maybe I'm more conscious of this.
@lexfri @chartier Nor do I. Of course, mine's in a 3" thick case with three layers of anti-scratch film…what, am I doing it wrong?
@chartier I even make sure not to put it in the same pocket as my loose change.
@chartier I put two iPhones in my pocket and the 3GS' back scratched the 4S' screen. #firstworldproblem
@chartier Yes? Never had any trouble.
@chartier Yes, i know plenty (meaning lots) of ppl who do that. Crazy, but true. My phone after 2 years looks barely scratched
@chartier My front left pocket is a dedicated iPhone carrier.
@chartier all the time.. that's what the screen protector is for :)
@chartier my iPhone was $1305. And no, but I don't use a case.
@chartier not a chance! thats madness
@chartier I try to avoid it, but sometimes, yeah.
@chartier It has a pocket to itself, either in my jeans, coat, or Ristretto. I must carry wallet, keys, and change in one pocket though :(
@alexhung @chartier I do occasionally but never a scratch. Owned iPhones for over 3 years and never have used screen protectors.
